  Male Cancer Markers
Early detection is key when it comes to treating cancer. This package includes various tests that check-up for cancer markers in men.

  • Alpha Feto Protein (AFP): A protein normally made by the liver and yolk sac of a developing baby, AFP levels go down soon after birth and are not seen in a healthy adult. Its presence is elevated in potential cancers, including testicular and liver cancer, in men.
  • CA-19.9: A protein that exists on the surface of certain cancer cells, CA 19.9 is shed by the tumour cells and can be detected by lab tests in blood and other body fluids. Elevated levels of the protein is an indicator of cancers such as pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers in men.
  • Carcino Embryonic Antigen (CEA): This is a protein present in the gastrointestinal tract during foetal life. Babies in the womb have high levels of CEA and after birth, levels drop dramatically. Therefore, the level of CEA in the blood is relatively low unless certain diseases, including certain cancers are present. Hence, this tumour marker is used to monitor the progression of cancer, particularly in those who have already been diagnosed with cancer.
  • PSA- PSA is a protein produced by normal, as well as malignant, cells of the prostate gland. PSA may exist in two forms: It may be bound to another protein or float freely. Our panel measures both, total PSA and Free PSA. A person may have an increased risk of prostate cancer when they have higher levels of total PSA and lower levels of free PSA. Elevated PSA levels can be due to either prostate cancer or benign conditions.
  • Beta HCG Quantitative: This test measures the level of the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the blood. While HCG is produced by the cells of the placenta during pregnancy in a female, the male testes also produce this hormone at low levels throughout life. In some cancers, including testicular cancer, high levels of HCG are released so its presence in the serum is always considered a malignancy in males.
  Chest X-Ray:
Chest X-Ray is a quick and non-invasive imaging test that helps in detecting any abnormalities or issues in the chest region. It is particularly useful in detecting lung diseases such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, and lung cancer.

  Ultrasound (USG) Whole Abdomen:
An Ultrasound (USG) Whole Abdomen test uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the abdomen. This test evaluates the abdominal internal organs (such as gallbladder, kidneys, liver, pancreas, and spleen) and helps diagnose abnormalities like blood clots or fluid accumulation, gallstones, hernia, pancreatitis, appendicitis, kidney stones or blockages, tumours etc, making it a valuable tool for overall health assessment.

  Hemogram (20 tests):
A Hemogram is a complete blood count that includes 20+ tests and measures various parameters in your blood, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. This test is important for diagnosing various health conditions such as anaemia, infections, and bleeding disorders.
